When funding your Public Mint account with USD using Circle’s USDC stablecoin, do not try to send a different currency than USDC, as Circle smart contract does not support most currencies other than USDC, and doing so, may lead to an irrecoverable loss of your funds.
The only currency supported and refundable (with some backend work) is ETH. If that's the case, please contact our support team for more information.
There are important aspects and limitations to how returns work, and these limitations will have an impact on our ability to support this specific type of human error, such as:
1. If any other format is sent to our circle account, it won't be recognized by our systems and therefore not able to be processed by our infrastructure.
2. All other currencies (other than USDC and ETH), are not supported by the Circle Account API onto the various native blockchains that customers can access through the Circle Account. Therefore it cannot be accessed through an API call either.
With all these aspects at play, unfortunately, in the majority of cases, it is not possible to return the funds that have been sent in error (wrong currency) to the USDC Circle address provided by the Public Mint wallet.
